The Effects of an Invention or Innovation in Modern Life

　　People in modern life have a higher living level than people in the past. I attribute it to invention and innovation. The country with more invention has better economy and the industry with more innovation will be more thriving. We are encouraged to innovate because it has so many merits. There are many examples, yet I’d like to mention the extensive effects. I think the most influential advantages are efficient, cost saving, and more recreation, and they resulted in prosperity of a country.
　　
　　First, invention creates efficient. In terms of transportation, we don’t have to waste a lot of time to travel from one place to other place. It is more convenient to take plane, train, bus and now the MRT. People can build bridges which they couldn’t do before because more high technical methods had been invented. Which means workers now are more productive than past because they have more time to work. In terms of information, we had saved a grate of searching cost and time. The invention of internet flattens the block of the world. We can get and information easily, fast, and efficiently via internet. Therefore, invention does improve our efficiency.

　　Second, the invention and innovation also bring us cost saving, the so called economy of scale. The invention of machines and the innovation of technological procedures replaced the conventional artificial work. We now produced more goods in a relative sort time and low cost. For example, in the past, 10 hectare’s crops may need 50 farmers to cultivate, yet with plowing machines, it may need only 5 farmers with the same size of crops. The rest of 45 people can engage in other work. The other example is car industry. It was a labor intensive industry about 30 years ago and seldom people could afford it. However, thanks to Henry Ford, he innovated the new assemble line to produce cars and the lower the price; hence we can drive our RV to everywhere now. As a result, invention and innovation raised every one’s welfare.

　　Finally, the invention and innovation of nowadays combined function and recreation. The merchandize have animated the world. For instance, the Sony had created the PS2 or PSP on which you can not only play high quality games, but also see the DVD and surf on the internet. In fact, you can play the online games on it, too. The other famous example is Apple’s iPod. It had revolutionized the way of listening music. Just sigh in the iTune through the internet and get as many songs as you want. Moreover, LCD is everywhere such as on the wall of building, on the bus, in the elevator and even in the toilet. Consequently, these inventions let people feel less bored while they are walking or waiting.

　　In summary, the application of invention and innovation is around us everyday and everywhere. It effects our life in all aspects. With innovation, people will have vitality and momentum so that developed and advanced the economy. Without it , the economy will be easy to get bogged down into depression. Thus, no wonder most of the governments and entrepreneurs encouraged and sponsor activities of invention and innovation.
